Sunday to be foggy
New Delhi, Jan 30 (IANS) The weather in the national capital was pleasant Saturday even as a shallow fog enveloped the city early morning, giving the weatherman enough indications to predict another foggy morning Sunday.
"There will be fog tomorrow (Sunday) morning but the sky will be clear later in the day. On Sunday, the minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to hover around nine degrees Celsius and 22 degrees respectively," an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) told IANS.
"There was a shallow fog till about 7.30 a.m. today (Saturday), after which it cleared and gave way to a clear day. The visibility level was 500 metres," the official said.
"The minimum temperature recorded Saturday was 12 degrees Celsius, four degrees above average, while the maximum was recorded at 22.4 degrees Celsius," he added.
Though the shallow fog quickly gave way to sunshine, it still affected train schedules.
"Fog delayed 29 trains in the city. While 13 trains were rescheduled, 25 were cancelled," a Northern Railways spokesperson told IANS.
However, flight operations remained normal at the Indira Gandhi International Airport for the third consecutive day.
"Flight operations have been as per schedule. The runway visibility was around 1,000 metres," an airport official said.
