Dhaka, Feb 4 (IANS) The Bangladesh government Thursday accused the opposition BNP of waging a "proxy war" against India in favour of Pakistan.

The main opposition BNP was acting in Pakistan's favour and waging a "proxy war" against India, whip Sagufta Yasmin said in parliament.
"The BNP is waging a proxy war against India on behalf of Pakistan," bdnews24.com quoted her as saying.
Responding to the opposition's criticism over Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed's recent India visit, Yasmin said the BNP's anti-Indian stance was not for the country's sake.
She said: "The prime minister's India visit was fruitful and opened up a new era for Bangladesh".
